Updated: Dec 2, 2020

(Singapore, 24 April 2012) - Xerafy, the global supplier of RFID metal tags, won the European AutoID Award 2012 in the RFID category at the Euro ID 2012 trade exhibition in Berlin, Germany. The award was granted by AIM, the global organization for the promotion of AutoID, and Informa Business Communication. Xerafy earned the award for its development of innovative solutions and products including the Xerafy Metal Skin series, the first RFID inlays for metal, and for Xerafy XS series, the world’s smallest passive UHF EPC C1G2 metal tags on the market.

Dr. Alexander Pflaum, the Head of Department of Supply Chain Technologies at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits in Germany, presented the award to Xerafy on behalf of AIM and Euroforum and praised the company for its innovation in reducing the size and profile of metal RFID tags to that of a label.

“We are pleased to be distinguished for our innovation,” said Dennis Khoo, CEO of Xerafy. “At Xerafy, we strive to provide new disruptive RF tag solutions to challenge market norms.”

Xerafy attended the EuroID exhibition and presented some of their innovative customer solutions. Xerafy displayed their XS tags attached to surgical instruments to revolutionize healthcare operating theaters. For financial and IT data centers, Xerafy demonstrated how the Metal Skin label can track blade servers, iPads, and laptops. For the manufacturing and aerospace market, Xerafy showed how tool tracking reduces risk of foreign object debris (FOD) in airplanes after maintenance operations. Stanley Black & Decker embedded Xerafy’s XS tags at the point of manufacture for their ProtoID™ tool sockets were also on display.
